5 reasons to go bowling on your first date

The movies, a restaurant, picnic on a beach are all such obvious first date venues and to be honest a little bit awkward. Try something a bit more exciting, fun and where everyone is comfortable. According to Janis Spindel's 2007 book. How to Date Men: Dating Secrets from America's Top  Matchmaker happiness is contagious and potential dates find it hard to walk away from happy people. One of the biggest turn-offs during a date is negativity. So have some fun on your date, have a laugh and go bowling.

Date Night Help5) It's a great place to get to know your date - unlike the movies you can talk, have a beer (if you're old enough) and engage in a bit of friendly competition. It's a low-stress environment, so your date is guaranteed to feel relaxed and comfortable, which is important. If she's comfortable, she'll have more fun, and if she's having fun, you'll get a second date.

4) You can use the old "I'll help you bowl" trick - You always remember the first time you make physical contact with your date and bowling presents the perfect opportunity! Without being too awkward move up behind your date, take hold of their hand and help bowl the ball down the lane, together . If you get a strike awesome, if you don't who cares because you've hopefully just experienced that heart pounding awesomeness of the first contact.

3) Perfect place to show off your gallantry - Everyone likes a gentleman and bowling offers so many opportunities to treat your date like a lady. When entering the centre step aside and let her in first. Make your way to the counter and present the pre purchased vouchers you bought online. When bowling remember a gentleman never gloats, so keep a lid on it if you get a strike.

Lady in Red2) We've got the right colours - Studies show that men are more attracted to women wearing red whereas women are attracted to men in blue. Well guess what colour our shoes are? Red and Blue! Everyone's a winner.

1) The perfect place to say goodnight - You've laughed, you've asked lots of questions, you've paid for the night and it's time to say goodnight. Firstly let your date know you had a great time, we all want to be with people that we can make happy. Secondly make sure you've swapped numbers and become friends on Facebook, this helps when trying to organise the second date (It also helps with Facebook stalking). Finally if it feels right give your date a kiss goodnight.

So be brave make the call and ask your partner out on a bowling date. Oh and don't forget No. 3 and book ahead
